The Nabs Head is situated in the hamlet of Nabs Head, Samlesbury within the picturesque countryside just outside the city of Preston and not far from Blackburn & Chorley.

This delightful pub is the ideal watering hole for weary travellers (cyclists, walkers, runners, families, etc.), we serve proper Lancashire food and ale (CAMRA pub of the Season 2013) in a warm and friendly environment.

Fully refurbished internally (late 2017) we have a modern look while still retaining the all important country pub feel.

Enjoy our beer garden in summer or our log burner in winter (both added in 2016), and all year round hospitality.

We source our ingredients from local businesses where possible:

Fresh Meat – Butchers : I. J. Meats of Brinscall

Fresh Fruit and Vegetables : All Fresh of Ribbleton

Lettuce Leaves and Herbs : Home grown at the rear of our pub!

Fresh Seafood : The Fish Company of Skelmersdale

Dry Goods : Arbour Foods of Bamber Bridge

Beer, Wines and Spirits : Daniel Thwaites of Blackburn

As a country pub with lots of lovely walks in the area we allow all dogs whose owners are well behaved. Except for a 1/4 of the pub which we keep dog free for those who may not be as friendly towards your best friend.

As lovers of cask ales our selves we always have Thwaites Original and Samlesbury Gold on hand pull at all times. In addition to these we have 2 changing ales supplied by Daniels Thwaites brewery
